A significant number of the firm's engineers including some of the founding partners are LEED Accredited Professionals. All the partners of the firm are active members of the United States Green Building Council and as a group have over 100 years of collective accomplishments in engineering, building system configuration and state-of-the-art sustainable engineering solutions.
JFK&M has completed the design of its first LEED Silver Certified project. The project, MindBuilders, New York, NY, consists of a complete gut renovation of an existing 3-story building. The new space contains a dance studio, music studio, classrooms, practice rooms, offices, break room and mechanical spaces. The project included the design of special LEED certification compliant systems and was designed to achieve a LEED silver certification as well as compliance with Local Law 86.
JFK&M is currently working on other LEED Design projects: an extensive renovation at Baruch College and the SUNY Purchase College Center for Integrated Technology renovation. JFK&M has also been selected for term contracts with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), the New York City Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the New York City Department of Design and Construction, all of which require sustainable design and LEED certifications for new construction and major renovation projects.
